Carrie Wrigley

Carrie is delighted to return to the stage after a long tour of duty as a director, composer, counselor, and mother of five. She teaches and performs yearly at BYU Education Week, and has produced several CD’s of her original music. She was composer and musical director for Christmas in the Heart of a Child, first with DHT and then with Draper Arts Council; and has written and directed many other productions for church, school, and community events.

She completed her education at the University of Utah — first a BFA in Theatre (Musical Theatre and Acting Emphasis); then an Master’s in Social Work. She works as a counselor in private practice in Sandy, providing individual, marriage, and family therapy.

Carrie’s favorite roles include: Vi Moore (Footloose); Annie Oakley (Annie Get Your Gun); Emma Smith (Out of Small Things); and Meg Brockie (Brigadoon). This summer at Education Week she will be performing a one-woman show, A Tribute to Women of Faith Throughout the Ages, portraying Esther, Mary, Lucy Mack Smith, Sariah, and other great spiritual heroines. She is happiest when she gets to use her artistic talents to share a healing, hopeful message — as Footloose does. "Lose your blues — Everybody cut footloose!"
